Royal round-up: 27th May

Sorry all – I know I’m a day late with my post, but this girl’s been enjoying her bank holiday weekend! (A little too much – my head is pounding today).

So it’s time for a royal round-up! Admittedly, things have been fairly quiet for the Windsors this week, but nonetheless, there’s always news where those guys are concerned – so without further ado, let’s get stuck in to those news stories that have come up in the last week.

Photos of the Cambridges and The Chelsea Flower Show

Just as I did my royal round-up last week, Kensington Palace went and posted some of the cutest photos I’ve ever seen of the Cambridges; as you all know, they were of William, George, Charlotte and Louis accompanying Catherine to the “Back To Nature Garden” to show her some support ahead of the Chelsea Flower Show.

There really are some stunning shots of the kids playing and enjoying themselves – yes, that includes William on the rope swing as well, who at one point appeared to be enjoying himself more than the kids.

The children were clearly excited to support their mum and enjoyed hanging out together in the garden. Well – until this point:

I particularly enjoyed the fact they were posted on Meghan and Harry’s first wedding anniversary, taking the sheen off the weird, blurry, “unseen” photos of the “big day” that they posted. My favourite is this one, because it perfectly captures the expression of pure “I-can’t-fucking-believe-he’s-actually-marrying-her” from Prince William. Just beautiful.

“Why the fuck am I here?”

I don’t think the Cambridges posted it on their anniversary intentionally – they’re not as petty as the Sussexes – but let’s face it, there was definitely subtle shade being thrown. But since Harry and Meghan are adept at stealing other people’s thunder, I figured it didn’t really matter anyway. They know how it works by now.

I also particularly loved the photos of The Queen and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in Kate’s Back To Nature garden – especially a little tidbit that someone posted online, revealing that Kate was so desperate to have the garden looking neat and tidy for the Queen, that she was seen stuffing stray twigs and leaves into her designer clutch, as she didn’t want to leave them lying around. So sweet and funny!

Donald Trump’s state visit

As you’ll all know, POTUS and FLOTUS are visiting the UK next month, and it has been announced that Prince Charles will host a state dinner at Clarence House for the Trumps during their time here.

We’ve been told that The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be in attendance for this, but it has been said in some places that Harry and Meghan won’t be there – which is just as well, really; if I remember correctly, Meghan likened Donald to “syphillis” once, so probably best to keep her away from the dinner table during that one. I’m very far from being a Trump fan, but it might be good for the royal family to realise that having Meghan there, after vocally voicing her political leanings, might not be such  a good idea after all.

“You called me syphillis when you’ve probably had it multiple times yourself, Meghan”

I have heard other news that Harry may be in attendance but Meghan still won’t be; but I’m not sure. Most royal reporters seem to think the Sussexes will be absent, and let’s face it, we all hope so: the sight of Meghan in a tiara could have me fetching up my dinner rather quickly. No thanks, love – please stay home with Archie.

Harry’s gallivanting – but where’s Meghan?

So the last three weeks since Archie arrived, I think we’ve seen more of Harry out and about than we have done since the beginning of 2019. For a new father supposedly having sleepless nights, he definitely manages to get around.

The Netherlands, Lady Gabriella Windsor’s wedding, the Windsor Horse Show, Italy for a polo match… he’s certainly been going places.

As for the attention-seeker wife, one does have to wonder what she’s up to these days – besides taking care of a new baby, of course. But for real, does anyone actually believe Meghan is holed up in a cottage in the arse end of nowhere, cooking vegan dinners for her husband and changing nappies?

It came out this week that Doria has now flown back to the USA, and with Harry running around town, no nanny in place and now the grandmother in another country, that effectively renders Meghan totally alone. I’m not sure this is quite what she had in mind when she thought “British princess”.

“I thought it was going to be all ballgowns, tiaras and shopping with Kate?”

There were other stories too – a rather big one circulating was that Meghan had been feeling “overwhelmed” by motherhood, and had buggered off to the Clooneys’ country bolthole for the “added support”…

If this is true, I’m rather embarrassed for her. He’s only three weeks old, her mum’s been there the entire time up until now, yet she’s already panicking – probably furiously googling “English supernannies” while Archie is left to scream his head off in the next room.

“Yeah Archie, one minute – mummy’s trying to find somebody who actually wants to take care of you.”

On another side of it though, I can kind of see why she must feel that way, if the stories are true. Her husband, for a man who was “desperately excited” to have child, doesn’t appear to have been at home very much since the kid arrived, so Meghan must be fairly pissed off by now. Harry rides bikes in Amsterdam, plays polo in Rome and gets pissed at weddings while she is literally left holding the baby and updating the Instagram? Yeah – not what she signed up for, I’m sure.

Why Harry had such a lax diary for the first four months of this year, yet has now suddenly ramped up the engagements since his son arrived, I don’t know. Maybe he liked the idea of having a kid, but reality has now hit – along with the sleepless nights and screaming child – and he’s looking for any excuse to get out of the house. I’ve no idea. But it’s weird for a father to be away from home so often within the first few weeks of his kid’s life – especially after he announced he was going to take “paternity leave”.

“Right, off to the pub. See you next week, Meg!”

Ok – I’m not entirely sure what he’s taking leave from, but he’s been seen every week since Archie’s birth fairly regularly, so that idea clearly went out the window somewhere along the way.

I have to say, I don’t think Harry and Meghan will ever really be “hands on parents”, because the royals don’t really know what that means.

While Diana loved her boys and Charles was always on-hand for fishing trips and outdoor excursions for William and Harry, they were predominantly raised by the nanny – and I suspect the situation will be much the same for Archie.

Let’s face it, if they’re already scrambling for nannies when he’s only three weeks old, despite being unemployed with a lot of spare time on their hands, it’s not looking too promising.

Meghan doesn’t strike me as having a maternal bone in her body and Harry, while he may mean well, likely doesn’t know what it means to be a “proper” dad. His idea of quality time with Archie will probably be a ten minute cuddle and then foisted back on the nanny. Such is the way with the royals.

“Harry, am I holding him right?”

In any case, I do look forward to seeing what comes out in the next week and what other little bits of gossip we can squeeze out of the House of Windsor. Are the rumours about Meghan hiding out at the Clooney’s true? Will the details of Archie’s christening be announced? What other country will Harry show up in this week?

Stay tuned – it’s going to be fun! In the meantime – have a fab week all xxx

  1. She doesn’t seem to be someone who enjoys being on her own for very long, so my guess is she’s hanging out at the spacious Clooney home. Their children are a slightly older but they’ve probably still got all the required baby “stuff” along with a nanny and housekeeper. In that environment I imagine MM will feel very supported. On the other hand when H shows up, he’ll probably be made to feel guilty for “abandoning” her.

    1. You’re totally correct. I get the feeling she’s quite insecure and agree that she may not like being by herself. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if she was at the Clooneys, while Harry buggered about elsewhere. Now that her Mum’s gone, I’m doubtful she’s looking after Archie by herself. People used to reprimand Kate for going to her parents’ house when she was a new mum, but funny how nobody is saying anything about Meghan being “overwhelmed” and allegedly unable to handle her own baby.

  2. Just like last week’s hugely entertaining and laughed to the point of tears. Yes actually made my husband stop he so I could catch him up to date on the latest goings on British Royal Family. So yes it is another❣ 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

    1. Thank you so much!! I’m so glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate your comment 💖

  3. Okay so posted then rerouted back and hoping to remember. Oh well hopefully my recall will come back to me. As usual a wonderful read and was delighted just as last week. You’ve again made it reality as if we’re all in the mix standing in corner with a cocktail comparing thoughts. So entertaining made my husband stop and listen to this weeks details. Yes! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 enjoyed beyond words.

    1. Thank you so much!! 💖

  4. The Cambridge’s posted the ‘garden’ pictures the day before the garden show opened. Perfect timing to publicize her work and increase interest in the Chelsea Garden Show overall. Meghan’s post was just reminiscing about an event that happened a year ago. And frankly posting 10 pictures set to music seems a little immature IMO.

    1. Well that’s just it – but you wouldn’t believe the number of Sussex fans who accused Catherine of releasing the photos to “steal their thunder”. Like the DOC has ever given a shit about being the centre of attention – and that’s why most of us love her. Meghan’s actions are immature because Meghan IS immature. She must wet her knickers in excitement when she has a baby or an anniversary comes up – “yessss more attention for MEEEEEE”.

Rach most likely is filling her days in her own organic, Himalayan inspired vege garden.

Archie is prolly in one of those slings attached to Rach whilst she hoe, hoe hoes….

For a minute I thought we wouldn’t be seeing you this week but glad we did;) I really enjoy your writing. Very witty and to the point. I just can’t believe that no one seems to know where the heck she and the baby are. No matter where she goes she has secret service or at least police protection right? I mean if there is an actual baby the queen would make sure he was safe. The whole thing stinks if you ask me. See you next week love!,

  6. From the scuttlebutt I’ve heard, the Clooneys aren’t exactly hands-on parents themselves. What’s she doing? Mooching nanny-service? I hadn’t seen that picture shot of Prince William on Prince Harry’s wedding day. That’s hysterical! In defense of Meghan, I wouldn’t want to be in the same room with President Trump, either.

  7. Harry’s traveling makes more sense if the baby is older, as some have suggested. Meghan’s comments at the press event didn’t make sense. What 2 day old is a good sleeper? At 2 days old my baby was feeding constantly and I was a sleepy zombie. What new father would travel away from his wife and infant if he didn’t absolutely have to. Wouldn’t BP support his paternity leave and not expect him to travel for awhile?

  8. As always, great round up! 🙂 Thanks for doing the work, and doing it so good!
I was wondering if she is at home to get in good shape, and show off her great figure at the next event. I was also wondering if she is the one who sends Harry out constantly, to keep in the race with the Cambridges, to show that they are the opposite of lazy, and keep remaining relevant. Definitely it’s very weird. The first six weeks with a new baby you need as much help as you can get, because it’s very exhausting. Even the best and calmest baby needs to be fed every 2-3 hours 24/7 for a few weeks at least. To make your own food, and take a shower, and sleep some, etc. you need someone else to help you out. Especially when you can afford it, why wouldn’t you? The easiest help would be your husband, or your mother. It’s very interesting that ever since she came around there’s always a mystery! Always something that doesn’t add up.

  9. Harry will be no different to William. Neither are/will be hands on fathers. Only there for the fun stuff, ditching to go off and party with friends or exes, and doing what they please. Kids trotted out for good PR opportunities. And with Meghan, the poor baby being used as a PR exercise all the time, because he is her security blanket she probably did not want to have. Charles was at least an involved parent for his generation, knowing what his parents did to him by emotionally neglecting him so badly – bath and bed time, normal father things he didn’t even know existed until he had children. However his sons are turning out to behave more like Philip in the way they react towards fatherhood. You play with them when you feel like then hand them back to the troupe of nannies who care for them.

I highly doubt there is not a team of nannies looking after wee Archie.

Meghan will cry maternity leave when if it were a Democrat as President she’d crawl on glass on her hands and knees to be there – but we will see her at Trooping the Colour.

What do you all think of her ridiculous Instagram stories and posts? They are all about her! Harry, charities and work are an afterthought to promoting herself. It is appalling behaviour.

I have been enjoying reading your blog and felt the need to comment 🙂

  10. The Queen herself is the oldest known freeloader next to Hitler. MM is mentally ill along with the other royals who are known pedophiles. I feel sorry for the sheep also known as British taxpayers. Fraud with every one of the Royals. Immigrants have also ruined your once fine Country. Best of luck in getting rid of the Monarchy. They had Diana murdered too. Everyone do your research on all of this. This isn’t conspiracy theories. These are facts. One more thing. PRINCE CHARLES IS GAY OR BISEXUAL. He likes teenage boys.

    1. You sound a bit crazy. Please don’t come on here and start aggressively spewing crap you know nothing about – the United Kingdom’s issues stem back far further than immigration – and do keep comments about “immigrants” to yourselves; I’m mixed race and the child of two parents who were not born in the UK originally and I take massive offence to that. Don’t talk about things you know nothing about – least of all on MY blog. Think before you speak.
